Sockburn · Canterbury
Traffic heading into town
Faces vehicles driving toward the city centre — morning commuters and inbound shoppers.
This site is above the apex of the Sockburn overbridge capturing a high volumn of traffic leaving south-west Christchurch and Hornby heading towards Riccarton and the city. This is a major arterial route with a high volume of traffic and long dwell times during peak times.
Good for
CommutersSits on a route people drive every working day, so the same faces see it repeatedly.
Foot trafficPeople pass on foot and linger, so there is time to read more than a headline.
Big audienceOne of the busiest screens on the list — the choice when the job is sheer numbers.

Cost per 1,000 views is the weekly rate over JCDecaux's published audience figure for this board, ex-GST. It counts views, not people — one person passing five times is five of them.

Step one of booking, and nothing is charged. We take the board off the market for 24 hours so nobody else can buy your week while you get artwork and billing details together — then you finish the booking. Walk away, or release it early, and you pay nothing.
These are genuine distressed rates on unsold inventory — the screen runs either way, so the owner would rather sell the gap. First come, first served. Rates never published below this.
Goes well with this one

Book several screens as one plan and the multi-week discount counts every screen-week together.

How it works
01

Pick your weeks

Choose the week or weeks you want above. Each one is priced on its own — the price you see is the price you pay, nothing is added later.

02

Book it

Send your details and we hold the board free for 24 hours. Add your artwork (or brief us) and we handle the booking with the screen owner.

03

See It

Your ad goes into the rotation from the Monday your week starts and your business is up in lights.

Questions people actually ask
Why is it this cheap?

A digital billboard runs whether it's sold or not. The screen is already built, already powered and already lit, so a week nobody books earns the operator nothing at all. Selling it late at a fraction of the rate card beats selling it for zero.

The percentage on each listing is measured against the screen owner's own published rate card (the price for booking that board properly, in advance). Same screens, same operators, same rotation the national brands are in.

What's the trade-off?

Choice and lead time. You're buying what's left rather than picking the perfect board six weeks out, so the screen you want may not be free the week you want it and the list changes as weeks sell. If you need a particular site on a particular date, for example a launch or an event with a fixed day, it's better to book it the traditional way and pay the rate card.

What you don't give up is the inventory itself. It's the same screens, the same share of the same loop and the same audience a full-price booking gets.

If I drive past my billboard, will I see my ad?
Yes, if you give it a minute. These are digital screens, so ads take turns in a rotation rather than sitting there permanently. This screen gives you a 15% share of screen time — an 8-second slot in a 53-second loop, day and night, which works out to roughly once every minute. It's a rotation, not a fixed schedule, so the gap between plays varies.
How quickly can I go live?
Weeks run Monday to Sunday, so the soonest start is the next Monday still showing availability. Pick your week and we hold it free for 24 hours while we confirm the space with the screen owner; nothing is final until they do and if it has gone you aren't charged. We need final artwork a few days before the Monday so it can be loaded. If you already have a file that meets spec, going live this coming week is realistic.
Can I buy just one day, or a couple of hours?
Inventory here is sold in full weeks, Monday to Sunday. That's how the screen owner releases it and it's better for you: outdoor advertising works on repetition, and one day rarely gives the same person enough chances to see it.
I don't have an ad. Can I still book?
Yes. Bring artwork if you have it and we'll check it against the screen's spec for free. If you don't, we'll resize what you've already got from $150, or design something from scratch from $450. We quote the exact figure once we've seen what's needed. Either way we won't let a badly-sized file go to air.
